According to the report by WEF, by 2025, the machines and algorithms will share significant work hours equal to that of human beings. In addition, the global slowdown brought by the COVID-19 has impacted economies, labour markets, work environment and further accelerated the digital transformations. These lead to the creation of new job roles, new skills, and a dynamic business environment. Academic institutions that are already on a war foot to catch up with the evolving industry trends must adopt a holistic approach, creating active linkages and coordination between educators, students, skills, and employers, and ensuring effective collaboration between industries, governments, and peer institutions.
